NIKKA

Born into a family of sake producers in 1894, Masataka Taketsuru is considered to be the father of Japanese whisky.

ORIGIN
After training as a chemist, he began working for the Settsu Shuzo company, who sent him to Scotland in 1918 to carry out an apprenticeship. There he developed a passion for whisky and decided to dedicate his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido.

TASTING NOTES
Rigid structure, ample peat, broader mouthfeel. Complex and layered flavors expands on the palate.


KAVALAN

Kavalan whisky, aged in intense humidity and heat, sources the meltwaters of Snow Mountain and is enhanced by sea and mountain breezes.

ORIGIN
Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County has been pioneering the art of single malt whisky in Taiwan since 2005.Taking Yilan County’s old name, the distillery is backed by about 40 years of beverage-making under parent company, King Car Group.

TASTING NOTES
A hint of sweet mango juice with that spicy complexity and gentle warmth on a medium, oily and citrus finish.
