Badia a Coltibuono is about one thousand years old but its prehistory takes us back to Estrucan times and beyond. AS we know today Badia a Coltibuono (which means Abbey of the good Harvest) dates from the middle of the eleventh century.
The estate was first sold by the lottery and then in 1846, Coltibuono was bought by Guido Giuntini, a Florentine banker and great grandfather of Piero Stucchi-Prienetti, the present owner.

The Chianti Classico is a very accessible wine with pleasant floral aromas that are perfectly fused with notes of morello cherries while on the palate it has a fruity and persistent flavour.
A young and pleasing Chianti made from Sangiovese and Canailol grapes that are grown in the hills around Siena. It has an intense ruby-red colour and its bouquet has flowery hints and notes of berries. It is dry, tasty and harmonious with a well-balanced tannic structure and good body.
Made from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, this wine offers a pleasant youthful freshness fused into the body of a wine also suitable for ageing. It has a seductive exotic bouquet. In the first year its fruitiness comes to the fore while over time more characteristic Mediterranean aromas emerge.
It is refined and soft on the palate but at the same time elegant and austere. It possesses wonderful aromas and an intense ruby-red colour which with a period of bottle ageing gains an added depth and charm.
